The Village at Topanga

  • 550,000 sf GLA (new construction) / $350 million

  • Multi-award winning project.

The Village at Westfield Topanga has become an outdoor oasis and community meeting spot unlike any other in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles. Celebrating the Valley’s rich culture, history and climate, The Village was conceived as a complement to Westfield’s Flagship property, Westfield Topanga, across the street. The project goals included increasing customer visits for both the Village and Topanga, bringing new types of retailers to the area, expanding the trade area and attracting new customers.

The Village features a series of intimately scaled outdoor spaces organized around three engaging water features where one can casually stroll in a romantic setting, nestled under a green canopy of mature trees. The architecture is enhanced by a variety of textures, materials and details, which give character and scale to the buildings, while a series of large scale trellises add an enriching layer to the overall experience. Unique amenities including a custom children’s climber, public mini-libraries, a “birthday” table, bocce-ball court, yoga lawns, dog-snack stations, an intensive arts program, and abundant moments of surprise details help define a sense of place that links the Village to its context and the local community.
